North China's Shanxi province has steadfastly empowered rural vitalization through digital initiatives, propelling the province's digital rural construction forward.

Pilot demonstrations are consistently prioritized as a key driver for digital rural development. Policies for digital economic growth are formed, and pilot projects are supported at all levels. The province has selected 15 rural areas as pilot zones, further emphasizing digital infrastructure and fostering innovation in smart agriculture to drive digital rural development across the province.

Shanxi is actively promoting the coverage of "double gigabit" networks in 10 specialized towns, advancing the construction of communication infrastructure in rural areas along three major tourist routes. Efforts are also underway to enhance gigabit network coverage in rural primary and secondary schools and advance emergency broadcast system construction.

At the same time, Shanxi is integrating digital technologies, such as the internet of things and big data, across various stages of agricultural production. The province has established 11 national modern agricultural industrial parks, five national industrial clusters, and 39 national agricultural strong towns. It has developed smart farms, ranches, and fisheries, steadily increasing the informatization rate of agricultural production across the province.

At all levels, from provincial to village, Shanxi is working to improve the digitization efficiency of rural governance by enhancing grassroots governance platforms supported by information technology and integrated online government service platforms.
