North China's Shanxi province is advancing the establishment of a more efficient grassroots healthcare service system, focusing on strengthening the basic health platform.

The Health Commission of Shanxi Province is actively implementing the "Quality Service at the Grassroots Level" initiative and advancing the construction of county-level healthcare sub-centers. The commission aims to create new hubs for medical treatment outside cities by constructing and evaluating township health centers that will serve more people and have more robust capabilities.

The commission also focuses on developing community hospitals, emphasizing that city community health service centers meet recommended standards. Efforts are concentrated on enhancing specialized diagnosis, treatment, and inpatient services. In addition, village clinics will be upgraded to improve operational efficiency and service effectiveness.

In the ongoing development of the grassroots healthcare system, the commission prioritizes workforce development, continuously refining talent recruitment mechanisms. By aligning services with public demands, the commission aims to optimize service provisions and strengthen the foundation of tiered healthcare services.

Furthermore, the commission explores innovative institutional mechanisms by focusing on pilot projects to create a more favorable policy environment for developing grassroots healthcare.
