Shanxi conferences explore green development of China's copper industry

The 7th China Copper Industry Science and Technology Development Conference and the Shanxi Copper-based New Materials Industry Chain Development Conference were held from Sept 26 to 28 in Yuncheng, North China's Shanxi province.
Academicians, experts, scholars, and prominent entrepreneurs from the Nonferrous Metals Society of China, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the copper industry gathered at the foot of Zhongtiao Mountain. They exchanged insights and expertise, exploring new pathways for China's copper industry's green, low-carbon, and recycling development.
During the conference, 16 Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians, renowned experts, and industry leaders delivered insightful presentations showcasing cutting-edge technological achievements in the copper industry.
Topics covered the development of China's copper industry, ore dressing, preparation and processing of copper alloy materials, and resource recycling. These offered new perspectives, models, and methods for the green, low-carbon, and recycling development of China's copper industry.
The conference also hosted a signing ceremony to promote the development of the copper industry, including agreements for three technology innovation chains, three supply chains, and four industry chains, totaling contracts worth 2.73 billion yuan ($388.97 million).
This conference aims to advance the technological progress and industrial upgrading of China's copper industry by facilitating in-depth exchanges on the latest research achievements and experiences in mining, smelting, and material processing in the copper industry, both domestically and internationally.
