The 2024 Rural Vitalization (Taigu) Forum opened on Sept 28 at the Shanxi Xiaohe International Convention Center in North China's Shanxi province.

Over 200 domestic experts and scholars in agriculture and rural development participated in the forum.

The forum aimed to discuss comprehensive rural reform measures, exchange ideas on high-quality agricultural and rural development, and advance the comprehensive vitalization of rural areas.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Han Jun, and Jin Xiangjun, governor of Shanxi province, attended the forum's opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Han congratulated the forum's organization and acknowledged the new progress and achievements in Shanxi's rural development. He emphasized the importance of ensuring stable and secure food and agricultural supply, promoting rural industry upgrades, and developing new industries and formats.

Jin highlighted the need to further refine the urban-rural integration system, bridge the urban-rural gap, facilitate circulation, improve support mechanisms for agriculture, and increase farmers' incomes.

Since its inception in 2018, the forum has been held five sessions, with its influence growing annually.
