Shanxi builds 128 intelligent coal mines
Updated: 2024-09-26
In first half of this year, North China's Shanxi province established 128 intelligent coal mines, 1,491 intelligent mining faces, and 3,200 unmanned chambers, with all operating locations under surveillance, placing it in the country's top tier.
As a coal-rich province, Shanxi's raw coal output in 2023 reached 1.38 billion metric tons. According to the "2024 Shanxi Coal Stable Production and Supply Plan", the province aims to maintain coal production at around 1.3 billion tons in 2024 while ensuring safety.
In recent years, the province has actively adjusted coal mining layouts, accelerated modern mine construction, and propelled the traditional coal industry towards high-end, high-quality, and high-efficiency development. Advancements in intelligent coal mine construction have enhanced coal extraction efficiency and safety.
Meanwhile, Shanxi is exploring green mining technologies and promoting ecological restoration and environmental protection during coal extraction and utilization, striving for the eco-friendly development of the coal industry and achieving significant results.
By 2025, coal production in the province is expected to stabilize at a reasonable level based on national demands, with advanced capacity in large mines reaching 95 percent and 300 intelligent coal mines established. By 2027, various coal mines are expected to become fully intelligent.
