24th Pingyao International Photography Festival opens
The 24th Pingyao International Photography Festival opened on Sept 19 at Yingxunmen Square in the ancient city of Pingyao, Jinzhong city, North China's Shanxi province.
The festival, themed "Twenty-Four Years: New Quality Images", symbolizes the 24 years of light and shadow captured by the event. It intertwines with the ancient city to create a photography space that continuously influences and transforms people's aesthetic perceptions and ways of life.

This year's event focuses on technological innovation, delving into the essence of photographic art and striving to create more works that meet high-quality development standards.
The festival features 16 units across five main sections, including artwork displays, photo trading, exhibition selection, academic exchanges, and IP integration, showcased in four exhibition areas.

Over 3,000 photographers from 28 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions across China have submitted more than 20,000 pieces for display. The exhibition received over 1,800 photographs from 246 international photographers representing 30 countries and regions.
This year's themed exhibition showcases the significant changes in the areas along the route of the Red Army's Long March over the 75 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The exhibition features the participation of internationally renowned photographers and curators such as Gregory Maiofis from Russia, Bruce Strong from the United States, Keron E. Psillas from Hungary, and Sian Lesley Bonnell from the United Kingdom, presenting works that encompass multiple dimensions of history and reality.
