The Cultural Heritage Xinzhou Forum, with the theme "Cultural Heritage in the New Era: Revitalizing and Shining with New Energy", commenced on Sept 13 in Xinzhou, North China's Shanxi province.

Over 200 experts, scholars, local cultural and tourism authorities, and leaders from cultural and tourism enterprises gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on cultural heritage protection, inheritance, and utilization.

In his keynote speech, Shan Jixiang, director of the expert committee of the China Cultural Relics Academy, emphasized the transition from relic preservation to cultural heritage protection. He called for a holistic approach to coordinating the protection, inheritance, and utilization of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, cultural and natural heritage, and movable and immovable cultural heritage, urging the thorough exploration of China's abundant cultural resources.

Du Xiaofan, president of the Society for Conservation of Cultural Heritage in East Asia, highlighted that traditional Chinese culture pursues harmonious coexistence with nature. Many heritage sites harbor unique and scarce species. These spots should not solely prioritize the economic benefits of tourism but also consider ecological civilization a vital source of cultural confidence.

During the dialogue session, Shan Jixiang, Du Xiaofan, Professor Qian Wenzhong from Fudan University's history department, and brand strategy expert Li Guangdou delved into the topic of "Uncovering the Deep Value of Cultural Heritage". They provided profound reflections and unique insights on cultural heritage protection, inheritance, and utilization, proposing specific exploration paths and development strategies.

Meanwhile, representatives from world cultural heritage sites such as Wutai Mountain Cultural Landscape, Beijing's Central Axis, West Lake Cultural Landscape, and the Yungang Grottoes shared their experiences and practices in heritage application and conservation at the forum.
