Lyuliang's first China-Europe freight train launches

At 9:38 am on Aug 30, the inaugural China-Europe freight train from Lyuliang, North China's Shanxi province, departed from the Wenshui Consolidation Station. This marks a significant milestone for the city's active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and its efforts to establish a major land logistics corridor connecting Eurasia.

The freight train will pass through the Horgos Port to reach its final destination in Moscow, the capital of Russia. It consists of 110 containers and will carry goods such as clothing, daily necessities, furniture, office supplies, and small machinery.

During the launch ceremony, officials highlighted the importance of the China-Europe freight train for Lyuliang. Creating a new international logistics channel and deepening cooperation and trade with countries along the route is expected to transform the city into a new beacon of opening-up. This train will also expand Lyuliang's growth potential, accelerate the aggregation of logistics and commerce, and drive high-quality economic and social development in the region.
