At 8:55 am on Sept 3, China Eastern Airlines flight MU5073 took off from Taiyuan Wusu International Airport located in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province, heading to Nagoya, Japan. This marked the resumption of the Taiyuan-Yantai-Nagoya international passenger route, which had been suspended for four years.

The reinstated route operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It will offer a more convenient travel option between China and Japan and facilitate cultural exchanges and economic trade between the two countries.

The customs of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport proactively has coordinated with airlines, airports, and travel agencies to establish a "one plane, one policy" supervision model and a one-to-one liaison mechanism. They have provided guidance on aircraft registration and electronic data transmission and optimized on-site operational procedures. They have also improved the passenger experience by creating a smart supervision system for the entire passenger clearance chain.

Recently, China's outbound and inbound travel has been rapidly recovering. Taiyuan Wusu International Airport, in addition to maintaining existing international routes to Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia, launched new routes to South Korea and Russia this summer.

"During the summer travel period (July 1 to Aug 31), the customs of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport supervised a total of 284 inbound and outbound flights and 28,203 passengers," said Tian Baozhen, director of customs.
