The Shanxi Brands on the Silk Road (Central Asia) 2024, organized by the Shanxi Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, was held from Aug 3 to 10.

The Shanxi economic and trade delegation, comprising government officials, business representatives, and legal experts, visited Kazakhstan and Russia, engaging in promotional events, business visits, trade negotiations, project matchmaking, and exhibitions.

This event established a new channel for economic and trade exchanges involving Shanxi, Kazakhstan, and Russia. It sparked new momentum for foreign trade development, enhanced mutual understanding and trust, and promoted the high-quality implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.

In Kazakhstan, from Almaty to Astana, the Shanxi delegation visited both countries' official institutions and trade associations, toured the Astana International Financial Centre, and established an intellectual property service station. The discussions covered energy, industrial manufacturing, land, taxation, policies, and business environments.

In Russia, from Moscow to St. Petersburg, the Shanxi delegation engaged in extensive exchanges with Russian officials and trade associations. They visited the Chinese Embassy in Russia and held discussions with the Moscow office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. They toured the Skolkovo Innovation Center and St. Petersburg Industrial Park, then visited the Beijing DHH Law Firm (Moscow) and the Russia-China Commerce Association, where they reached cooperation agreements on foreign-related commercial law, intellectual property, and multilateral mechanisms.

The legal team was a key contributor to the delegation's tour. While participating in trade activities, the team visited law firms in the two countries, exchanged views with relevant legal institutions, and established overseas intellectual property rights protection assistance stations.
