North China's Shanxi province recently announced the Implementation Plan for the Shanxi Province Industrial Internet Identifier Parsing System – Connecting Shanxi (2024-2026), which aims to establish at least 16 secondary-level identifier parsing nodes covering all cities in the province and register over 100 million industrial internet identifiers by 2026.

The plan emphasizes the crucial role of leading enterprises in their respective industries, encouraging them to drive the adoption of the identifier parsing system among their upstream and downstream partners.

It envisions efforts to integrate advanced information technologies such as identifier parsing technology, 5G, and the internet of things into the construction industry and establish a unified monitoring platform based on identifiers for the sector.

The plan also seeks to use identifier parsing to achieve cross-departmental information sharing and cross-regional network connectivity, enhance digital emergency response capabilities, and promote the application of identifier technology in key industries, such as coal, chemicals, and mining. It aims to achieve real-time analysis, prediction, and control of safety risks throughout production.

Beyond industrial applications, the plan encourages the creation of a new model for digital urban governance by developing digital demonstration scenarios in various sectors, such as smart hospitals, smart campuses, and digital communities.
