The 2024 "Taiwan Business and Youth Visit Shanxi" event will be held in North China's Shanxi province from Aug 20 to 24.

The main event will be held in Taiyuan, with parallel venues in Taiyuan, Datong, Jinzhong, and Linfen. Approximately 500 participants are expected, including dignitaries from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, business groups and leaders of renowned companies, some Taiwan association presidents, and representatives of Taiwan businesses and young people.

The main event will include meetings with provincial leaders, a welcome dinner for Taiwan guests, and an opening ceremony on the morning of Aug 21. The events at parallel venues will include promotional conferences and visits in Taiyuan, Datong, Jinzhong, and Linfen from Aug 22 to 24.

Special exchange activities will also be held, focusing on topics like agriculture, medicine, culture and tourism, youth, and women. These include an exhibition of block prints from Shanxi and Taiwan.

Meanwhile, the event will prioritize practical exchanges with young people from Taiwan. An internship and employment promotion event for young people from Taiwan will be held, providing a comprehensive explanation of the province's talent policies. In addition, relevant departments and enterprises will offer internship and employment opportunities, and encourage young people from Taiwan to participate in community service, rural vitalization, and start-up incubation activities.

Since its launch in 2021, the event has been held for three consecutive years, attracting over 2,100 businesspeople and young people from Taiwan to Shanxi. This has played a significant role in helping businesspeople and young people from Taiwan get a better understanding of and settle down in Shanxi.
