Shanxi resumes operation of six short-haul flights
Updated: 2024-08-05
From July 27 to 28, North China's Shanxi province resumed regular operations on six short-haul air routes from Datong to Changzhi, Changzhi to Wutai Mountain, Datong to Lyuliang, Lyuliang to Yuncheng, Yaocheng to Changzhi and Changzhi to Yuncheng.
"Our province operates these six short-haul air routes using the Beechcraft Super King Air 350 and Cessna 208 aircraft. The two aircraft types are the mainstays of domestic short-haul transportation, known for their performance, safety, and excellent short takeoff and landing capabilities. With spacious and comfortable cabins, they ensure both flight safety and a pleasant passenger experience," said Tian Yuan, director of the Marketing Development Center at Shanxi General Aviation Group Co.
In recent years, Shanxi has been making active efforts to develop short-haul air transportation. Leveraging the Taiyuan Yaocheng Airport, Shanxi General Aviation Group Co has increased the number of domestic short-haul air routes, optimizing a network that connects Shanxi internally and extends beyond the province.
By the end of 2023, the province had served over 32,000 passengers on short-haul flights and had the highest number of domestic short-haul air routes relative to the number of passengers anywhere in China. It also ranks second nationwide in terms of the number and passenger capacity of its flight routes.
The resumption of these short-haul air routes plays a crucial role in closing regional transportation network gaps, promoting the integrated development of aviation and tourism, enhancing consumer spending, and building a comprehensive modern transportation system in Shanxi.
