A Madagascar delegation, led by Sava Region's Governor Teddy Gervais Seramila, visited North China's Shanxi province from July 10 to 13. During its visit, the delegation met with Dong Xiaolin, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province.

Dong warmly welcomed the delegation and briefed them on Shanxi's economic and social development. He highlighted the strong friendship between China and Madagascar despite their geographical distance. Shanxi, he stated, is eager to cooperate with the Sava Region in areas such as trade, culture and tourism, agriculture, and clean energy, aiming to bring mutual benefits to both regions.

Seramila expressed gratitude for the warm reception and thoughtful arrangements. He presented a brief overview of the Sava Region and expressed hope that the visit would allow the delegation to learn from Shanxi's experiences in promoting social and economic development.

During their stay, the delegation members met with Zhang Xinwei, mayor of Taiyuan. They also held discussions with Zhang Guangyong, Lyuliang's mayor, culminating in the signing of a letter of intent to establish sister city relations.

The delegation members also engaged in a dialogue with Shanxi Cultural Tourism Investment Group. They visited Shanxi's Smart Tourism Cloud Platform, the Jiajiazhuang Village History Exhibition Hall, and Shanxi Daxiang Agro-livestock Group Co.
