Shanxi unveils plans to enhance its tourism brand

North China's Shanxi province recently announced a series of measures to promote the high-quality development of its tourism industry, aiming to accelerate industry integration, improve service quality, and build a strong brand reputation of "making visitors satisfied with travel in Shanxi".

The province will deepen regional integration by fostering deeper cooperation between neighboring regions, integrating advantageous resources, and achieving the shared development and co-construction of service systems. Additionally, it will focus on building a system of core tourist attractions, following the "city + core scenic area + tourist corridor" model to develop three tourist hubs – Taiyuan, Datong, and Yuncheng – along with well-known tourist counties and towns.

Furthermore, Shanxi will strengthen the integration of intangible cultural heritage, artistic performances, health, wellness and sports, by developing new tourism formats such as rural tourism, health and wellness tourism, and low-altitude tourism. This will further unlock tourism potential and enhance the repatriation and influence of Shanxi's tourism brands.

At the same time, Shanxi will require relevant departments to strengthen supporting services for tourism, improve the quality of tourism catering, build a diversified accommodation system, and create tourism shopping brands, resulting in a tourism-friendly environment and providing visitors with satisfactory travel experiences in Shanxi.
