North China's Shanxi province is actively advancing its "Medicine Strengthening Project", aiming to enhance the accessibility, regional balance, and high-quality development of medical resources across the province.

The province prioritizes making high-quality medical resources more accessible to communities, extending advanced management methods, treatment techniques, and service capabilities to the grassroots level.

In 2022, a significant milestone was achieved through the collaborative establishment of the Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital – a joint undertaking between the province and the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. This collaboration has ushered in a new era for Shanxi's cancer treatment and prevention efforts, allowing residents to access national-level medical services within the province.

Furthermore, to date, the Shuozhou People's Hospital has recruited over 60 high-level medical professionals from within and outside the province and formed six expert teams from various grade A hospitals and medical school-affiliated hospitals at the provincial level. This influx of talent has advanced the hospital's medical technology and service capabilities, allowing residents to enjoy the expertise of provincial-level specialists right at their doorstep.

This year, the Yanhu Medical Group in Yuncheng has been focusing on building a 5G Smart Hospital and establishing a county-level medical community information platform and a "Smart Medical Assistant" system for village doctors.

Additionally, a total of 31 remote mobile ward round carts have been equipped across the Yanhu district's hospitals and health centers, while a total of 298 5G public health tablet computers have been distributed to village health rooms. These advancements facilitate remote emergency care, electrocardiograms, imaging, ultrasound, consultations, and ward rounds, ensuring that residents have convenient access to equitable, continuous, and comprehensive healthcare services.
