Shanxi works to promote clustered development of recycling industry
Updated: 2024-07-05
North China's Shanxi province is working to promote the clustered development of the renewable resources recycling industry, aligning with the "Implementation Plan to Accelerate the Construction of Waste Recycling System in Shanxi Province", which was released on July 4.
Seizing the opportunity presented by large-scale equipment updates and consumer product replacements, relevant authorities are expediting the development of a waste recycling system that covers all facets and operates with high efficiency and order, while advancing equipment updates in key areas such as industry, agriculture, construction, transportation, education, tourism, and healthcare.
Based on building Taiyuan into a "Zero-Waste City" and a national key city for waste material recycling, Shanxi will cultivate a group of leading processing and utilization enterprises and guide the coordinated development of enterprises in the industrial chains, thereby expanding the waste resource utilization industrial chain.
Additionally, Shanxi supports enterprises in collaborating with universities and research institutions to make major technical breakthroughs in the field of green and low-carbon technologies and participating in relevant national and provincial key scientific research projects.
By 2025, Shanxi expects to have established a preliminary waste recycling system covering all fields and links, with the annual output value of the resource recycling industry reaching 110 billion yuan ($15.14 billion).
