Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway achieves strong results over past 10 years
The Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway of North China's Shanxi province celebrated its 10th anniversary on July 1. Over the past decade, it has had a transformative impact on the transportation and connectivity, economic cooperation as well as cultural exchanges in Shanxi and beyond.
The high-speed railway line extends from Datong in Shanxi to Xi'an in Shaanxi, traversing major cities like Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Taiyuan, Jinzhong, Linfen, and Yuncheng. It forms a three-hour transportation circle, connecting Shanxi to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Henan.
In recent years, taking full advantage of the high-speed railway, Shanxi has facilitated regular freight train services connecting to Central Europe and Central Asia. It has also been actively participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy while fostering collaboration with the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration and the Shanxi-Shaanxi-Henan Yellow River Golden Triangle Demonstration Area. These efforts have brought about a large number of cooperative achievements.
Furthermore, striving to enhance the passenger experience, China Railway Taiyuan Group Co has implemented innovative services, including integrated air-rail transportation and seamless bus-rail transfers. These initiatives provide a comprehensive and professional travel experience for passengers.
