North China's Shanxi province issued the "Shanxi Province's Plan to Further Increase Investment Promotion and Promote the Agglomeration Development of the Consumer Goods Industry" on June 27.

According to the plan, the province will promote targeted upstream and downstream investment and build a series of characteristic consumer goods industrial parks, focusing on key industries such as household appliances, Chinese patent medicine, and automotive glass.

This year, the province aims to attract 15 consumer goods industry projects, introduce more than two leading enterprises and invest more than 2 billion yuan ($275.06 million).

To achieve this goal, Shanxi will focus on key regions such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta to introduce leading enterprises in the consumer goods industry, and cultivate a group of science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises.

In addition, the province encourages all cities and development zones to create a group of well-positioned and distinctive consumer goods clusters or characteristic industrial parks according to local conditions.

Moreover, relevant departments will formulate financial policies to support the development of provincial-level characteristic consumer goods industrial parks and provide certain financial rewards to characteristic industrial parks that meet the specified standards and scale requirements.
