Shanxi holds special exhibition on intangible cultural heritage
A special exhibition on intangible cultural heritage in North China's Shanxi province was held at Wenying Park in Taiyuan on June 26.
This event is part of the "Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Month", which includes three parts, namely, a thematic exhibition, an intangible cultural heritage market exhibition, and an intangible cultural heritage classroom. The thematic exhibition selected paper cuttings, folk embroidery and other intangible cultural heritage items from Shanxi.
In addition, the exhibition also invited practitioners in various fields such as paper cutting, Shangdang duijin embroidery, Datong knotting art, and Chinese style dyeing and weaving. Every practitioner showcased their skills and told their stories to the visitors.
Meanwhile, the Wenying Park Planetarium has set up a market for the works of intangible cultural heritage practitioners and a classroom for handicrafts. From June 26 to July 28, the practitioners share their works at the market every weekend. The main items include lacquerware, gourd handicrafts and porcelain carving. The public can make online reservations and participate in the activities through WeChat.
