Shanxi delegation visits Zimbabwe and Tanzania

A delegation of the Communist Party of China from North China's Shanxi province, led by Tang Dengjie, secretary of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, visited Zimbabwe and Tanzania from June 17 to 23, exchanging in-depth views with various parties in the two countries on bilateral relations, inter-party exchanges, and local cooperation.
In Zimbabwe, Tang met with Kembo Mohadi, vice president of Zimbabwe, and Amon Murwira, minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, among others. Tang stated that Shanxi will deepen cooperation with Zimbabwe in various fields such as infrastructure, people's livelihood, economy and trade, industry, and culture, so as to contribute to the development of China-Zimbabwe relations.
The Zimbabwean side stated that it is willing to learn from China's experience in economic development and governance, implement cooperation projects under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and chart a new chapter in Zimbabwe-China cooperation.
In Tanzania, Tang met with Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa and Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) General Secretary Emmanuel John Nchimbi. Tang said that Shanxi and Tanzania have a strong foundation for cooperation. The province will work alongside Tanzania to bolster the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen practical cooperation, and do everything it can to continue China and Tanzania's longstanding friendship.
The Tanzanian side stated that it will strengthen communication and cooperation with China in international affairs, deepen exchanges in various fields such as economy, trade, culture, and infrastructure, and continuously push bilateral relations to new heights.
During the visit, the delegation also visited the water supply projects in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, built by the Shanxi Provincial Geological Prospecting Bureau, and the teaching building project in Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology built by Shanxi Construction Investment Group Co.
