Shanxi works to expand its cuisine industry

North China's Shanxi province recently issued the "Action Plan for Improving Shanxi Cuisine", proposing the cultivation of the province's cuisine into a new driving force for its economic and cultural development and clarifying tasks in multiple areas.

The plan proposes creating a series of books on Shanxi cuisine, launching a special column on Shanxi cuisine, and planning promotional activities such as "literary experts telling stories of Shanxi cuisine" and "internet celebrities eating in Shanxi". Meanwhile, the plan proposes carrying out "we media" promotions and noodle-themed promotions to help Shanxi cuisine go global.

In order to build Shanxi cuisine brands and strengthen the cuisine industry, the plan also proposes focusing on building unique Shanxi brands such as sliced noodles and bean jelly, accelerating the expansion of Shanxi cuisine chain brands, and further promoting regional Shanxi cuisine brands such as "International Food City" Datong and "Home of Chinese Chefs" Fenyang.

In addition, the plan proposes encouraging Shanxi cuisine practitioners to apply for honorary titles such as Shanxi Skilled Expert and Shanxi Craftsman while improving the education system for Shanxi cuisine cooking and cultivating famous chefs in Shanxi's cuisine industry.

The plan also proposes promoting the integrated development of Shanxi cuisine and the cultural and tourism industry by encouraging branded Shanxi cuisine restaurants to enter scenic spots. Furthermore, the plan introduced three special tourism and food routes, including the Yellow River route, Taihang Mountains route, and Great Wall route, while also providing specific measures for the integration of Shanxi cuisine with transportation, urban development, rural vitalization, and information technology.
