Shanxi's general aviation industry sees rapid development
Updated: 2024-06-21
Since being approved as a national demonstration province for the development of general aviation industry in 2018, North China's Shanxi province has issued multiple planning policies to accelerate the growth of aviation industry entities and emerging markets. As a result, the low-altitude economy, with the general aviation industry at its core, has entered a new stage of rapid development.
After the official implementation of the provisional regulations on the management of unmanned aerial vehicles on Jan 1, Shanxi has continuously expanded real-world applications for drones, from agriculture to industry, and from entertainment to professional fields such as agricultural plant protection, traffic inspection, logistics transportation, and emergency rescue.
Meanwhile, the province has further supported the development of general aviation, specifically aviation operations, short distance transportation, low-altitude tourism, and emergency rescue, by constantly increasing the installation of general aviation facilities at transportation airports, and improving aviation aprons, hangars, and maintenance areas.
In addition, after years of development, the aviation industrial chain in Shanxi has been improved and optimized, with traditional advantageous enterprises transformed and emerging enterprises thriving. For example, Shanxi Zhehang Helicopter Industry Co and Shanxi Victory General Aviation Co can not only develop and manufacture aircraft, but also provide aviation services such as emergency rescue, forest firefighting, and atmospheric environment management.
Furthermore, as of the end of 2023, the province had opened a total of 12 short distance transportation routes, transporting 32,418 passengers, making it the province with the highest density of short distance transportation routes in China.
