Eight departments jointly announced on June 18 that North China's Shanxi province plans to develop an innovation platform and training base for the integration of industry and education with productive and practical training capabilities.

Specifically, Shanxi will focus on key industrial chains and key industrial directions of characteristic professional towns such as new-generation information technology, green coal, high-end equipment manufacturing, general aviation, and new energy.

With the support of pilot cities, pilot industries, pilot enterprises, colleges and universities, and industrial parks that integrate industry and education, Shanxi will develop a construction and operation system for a large-scale industry-education integration innovation platform and training base that is shared at the provincial, city and county levels.

The province will also encourage modern characteristic industry colleges, specialized maker spaces, human resource service industry parks, technology enterprise incubators, provincial high-level training bases, and municipal industry-education consortia to develop the innovation platforms and training bases for the integration of industry and education.

In addition, for the joint main units of the industry-education integration innovation platform and practical training base, relevant departments will provide priority support in government funding, listing financing, industry support, awards and commendations, and handling of government affairs.
