North China's Shanxi province held the 2024 Shanxi (Shanghai) Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference on May 27, capitalizing on 2024 SIAL China which will kick off one day later and run from May 28 to 30 in Shanghai.

The Shanxi conference was attended by the Shanghai Office of Shanxi Provincial Government, the Shanxi Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, over 50 enterprises from Shanghai and 44 from Shanxi.

Executives from the Shanxi Rural Industry Integration Development Center introduced the agricultural development situation in the province. The leaders of Shanxi Silin Agricultural Development Co, Yuanqu Yazhiyuan Agricultural Development Co, Shanxi Rongzi Chateau Co and other related enterprises recommended their enterprises and characteristic products.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Yangsheng Ecological Agriculture Co, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology Asset Management Co, Shanghai Changxing Enterprise Group Co and other related enterprises proposed product matchmaking requirements for their Shanxi counterparts.

"Our advantage lies in sales channels, and we want to cooperate with those enterprises that deliver vegetables such as tomatoes, pumpkins, and cabbages to eastern China," said Jiao Yunpeng, the procurement manager of Shanghai Yangsheng Ecological Agriculture Co.

Wang Xiu, vice president of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said buyers and suppliers from the Yangtze River Delta region expressed their high expectations of Shanxi's products at the supply and procurement coordination event held by the province on the day before 2024 SIAL China kicked off.
