The 2024 cross-Strait exchange event, themed "Worshiping Yan Emperor and Seeking Roots in Gaoping", was held in Gaoping, a county-level city in North China's Shanxi province, on May 15.

This event was hosted by the Chinese Yanhuang Culture Studies Association and the Shanxi Yan Emperor Culture Studies Association, and organized by the Gaoping Yandi Culture Research Association. It included a rich variety of activities such as the Yan Emperor worship event, cross-Strait youth interactions, cross-Strait women's exchanges, and Taiwan businesspeople and enterprises meetings.

That day, in front of the Yan Emperor Mausoleum in Gaoping, the people worshipped Yan Emperor, paying tribute to his great achievements. The online worship platform was also launched synchronously.

During the event, attendees got to try their hands at intangible cultural heritage skills, such as paper cutting, calligraphy and painting. The representatives of Taiwan enterprises visited industrial project sites and discussed cooperation opportunities. All of these deepened their sense of national belonging, identity, and honor.

Gaoping is the hometown of Yan Emperor, who is revered by people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Gaoping's Yan Emperor Mausoleum, the venue of the event, has been designated with several titles, including "Cross-Strait Exchange Base", "China International Culture Communication Base for Overseas Chinese", and "Yandi Shennong Cultural Research Base".
