The School of River and Lake Chiefs was established and unveiled at the Xiaodian campus of the Shanxi Conservancy Technical Institute in Yuncheng city, North China's Shanxi province, on May 11.

The establishment of the school is an important measure to promote the river and lake chief system in the province, representing a beneficial exploration of river and lake governance.

The school will be committed to exploring a new path for river and lake chief education. It is set to transform teaching and research achievements into practical outcomes, so as to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of Shanxi's river and lake system. It will also build a comprehensive service platform of river and lake chief system that is based in the province, yet serves the whole country.

At the same time, the Shanxi Conservancy Technical Institute will take the establishment of the school as an opportunity to build a river and lake chief system base for training, research, and promotion. This base will provide intellectual support for protecting river and lake ecosystems, maintaining river and lake health, and promoting human-water harmony in the province.
