The launch ceremony of the Shanxi Yellow River Cultural Creative Design Competition was held in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province, on May 10.

This competition, hosted by the Shanxi Yellow River Administration Bureau and the China Yellow River Foundation, aims to create unique products that combine Yellow River's cultural elements with modern technology, so as to fully showcase the achievements of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.

Since the late 1990s, the province has organized for young people to take part in various environmental protection activities such as tree planting, garbage clean-ups, and green promotion. In recent years, a wide range of Yellow River protection-themed activities have been carried out, with youth consistently taking action.

Zhang Jun, the secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, hoped that the young people that are participating in this competition will utilize their professional expertise to create high-quality works that promote Yellow River culture, and reflect the characteristics of the Yellow River.

Wang Jian, chairman of the China Yellow River Foundation, expressed the hope that this competition will collect and showcase a group of high-quality works created by people in various sectors of society when protecting, inheriting and promoting Yellow River culture.

This competition adopts an online collection format, spanning from May 10 to July 9. It calls for themed logos, designs, art works, and landscape sketches from higher education institutions, design institutes, and design companies across the country.
