Yellow River No 1 Tourist Highway offers picturesque scenery

In May, the scenery along the Yellow River No 1 Tourist Highway in North China's Shanxi province is lush and vibrant with a riot of flowers, turning it into a true ecological corridor.

Driving on the Wanrong section of the highway, one is accompanied by the meandering Yellow River throughout the journey, with a succession of facilities such as viewing platforms, small parks and cultural landmarks coming into sight.

Under the jurisdiction of Yuncheng city, the highway starts from the Xianghan Bridge at the border of Hejin and Linfen, and ends in Lishan town, Yuanqu county.

With a total length of 568 kilometers, the highway's main line runs along the Yellow River and through eight counties (county-level cities) including Hejin, Wanrong, Linyi, Yongji, Ruicheng, Pinglu, Xiaxian, and Yuanqu. Its branch and connecting lines are spread across 13 counties (county-level cities, districts) in the city, with a total length of 844 kilometers.

The Yellow River No 1 Tourist Highway links numerous tourist attractions and has become a popular route for weekend outings, effectively driving tourism development, rural vitalization, and ecological conservation.
