A molten iron fireworks (Datiehua) performance at the town of Situ in Jincheng city, North China's Shanxi province, set a Guinness World Record on April 20 thanks to its incorporation of 108 performers, making it the largest molten iron fireworks show in the world.

During the show, the molten iron at a temperature of 1,600 degrees Celsius was struck into molten iron fireworks in midair, before falling harmlessly like fiery raindrops. A total of 108 performers weaved through the scorching molten iron fireworks, while the audience raised their phones to capture this splendid and dazzling scene.

The adjudicator, Wu Xiaohong, stated that this is a newly established Guinness World Record category. Each of the 108 craftsmen had to complete at least one molten iron fireworks strike in order to be included in the total count. "All of these criteria have been met tonight," said Wu.

The molten iron fireworks show is a folk art performance invented by ancient Chinese craftsmen during the process of casting wares, and has a history of over a thousand years to this day.

The live performance of molten iron fireworks is one of the flagship cultural and tourism projects launched by the town of Situ in Situ village, Beishidian town, Jincheng city. "The molten iron fireworks team of the town of Situ will take this Guinness World Record certification as a starting point and will bring the art of molten iron fireworks to various parts of China, and even to the world," said Zhou Xiaoming, the director of the Situ village committee.

The town of Situ is a comprehensive tourist destination that integrates agricultural sightseeing, specialty dining, leisure entertainment, experiential education, and cultural creativity. Since its establishment, the town has developed a complete tourism industry chain.
