North China's Shanxi province has coordinated the allocation of nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.38 billion) in provincial funds for road construction, road maintenance work, as well as deepening comprehensive transportation system reforms this year.

Shanxi will allocate 2.33 billion yuan to support the construction of the three major tourist highways throughout the province.

Approximately 2.5 billion yuan will be set aside for the accelerated construction of highways from Fushan county to Linfen city and from Fenyang county-level city to Shilou county. This funding will ensure that these highways are completed and open to traffic within the year.

A capital investment of 370 million yuan will be allocated for the expansion and renovation of the Taiyuan-Jiuguan Highway project. This project is significant as it is a channel for Shanxi's integration into the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

In addition, 3.36 billion yuan in provincial funds will be allocated to promote the transformation and upgrading of ordinary national and provincial roads. Furthermore, 1.07 billion yuan will be used to further advance the high-quality development of rural roads across the province.
