Shanxi launches customized tourist train for senior residents

The Y402 special tourist train, with 864 passengers on board, departed from Linfen city, North China's Shanxi province on March 13, commencing a 12-day journey to Hong Kong and Macao.
This was the first special tourist train launched in Shanxi this year, and it was designed by China Railway Taiyuan Group Co to cater to the travel needs of elderly tourists.
With 90 percent of the passengers being over 60 years old, the tour is designed to be senior-friendly. The itinerary includes destinations with convenient transportation and complete facilities, such as cable cars, and is complemented by a full-service team including doctors, guides, and train attendants that will provide comprehensive support throughout the journey.

Guo Zhiwei, the train conductor, said that each crew member is paired with key passengers in their carriages, ensuring constant attention to their well-being and offering services such as water delivery, meal assistance, and guidance as needed.
During the 12-day journey, the train will pass renowned attractions such as Lushan Mountain in Jiangxi province, Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and Xiangtan in Hunan province, as well as famous landmarks in Hong Kong and Macao, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Victoria Harbour, West Kowloon Cultural District, and the Ruins of St. Paul's.
