A China-Central Asia freight train bound for Uzbekistan departed from Houma, a county-level city in North China's Shanxi province, on Feb 23.

This train, consisting of 50 carriages, was loaded with over 3,000 metric tons of exported steel. This cargo was valued at about 13 million yuan ($1.81 million).

In recent years, by relying on the normalized operation of the China-Europe (Central Asia) freight trains, Houma has helped to contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative. Houma has launched over 10 China-Europe and China-Central Asia freight trains, and plans to continue gathering more Shanxi-made manufacturing goods and then transporting them around the world.
