Shanxi athlete wins bronze in national men's snowboarding event

On Feb 19, Shanxi athlete Zhang Bin won the bronze medal in the men's snowboarding cross final of the 14th National Winter Games in Ulaanqab, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

At 23 years old, Zhang, previously a member of the Changzhi Martial Arts Team, switched to the national team to compete in snowboarding cross events. Despite only training for four years, he managed to secure a bronze medal at the 14th National Winter Games, which is a remarkable achievement.

On the same day, Shanxi athlete Ni Enrui secured 4th place in the men's youth snowboarding cross final, while Zhang Jiufu and Ma Tinglong claimed 6th place in the men's team cross-country skiing sprint (free qual) event. 

Liu Chengwei secured 8th place in the men's freestyle skiing dual moguls event. Furthermore, Meng Tianyu and Cao Chang placed 7th in the open mixed doubles curling competition.
