Shanxi delegation makes debut at 14th National Winter Games

On Jan 29, Shanxi Provincial Sport Bureau announced that Shanxi province had sent its first-ever delegation to participate in the 14th National Winter Games in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
A total of 205 athletes from Shanxi are competing in the games, with 67 of them being jointly trained athletes by Shanxi and other provinces.
The 14th National Winter Games, hosted by the General Administration of Sports and organized by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, will hold its opening ceremony in Inner Mongolia on Feb 17. According to the schedule, 77 events will be completed before the opening ceremony, and the remaining 99 events will take place from Feb 17 to 27.
With an expected participation of over 3,700 athletes, this year's event is the largest and most comprehensive in the history of the National Winter Games.
As of Jan 29, the Shanxi sports delegation has achieved commendable results, securing five gold and two silver medals. The team also achieved one fourth place position, four fifth places, three sixth places, and two eighth places. The athletes will strive for medals in the alpine skiing and snowboarding competitions.
