The athletes from Shanxi province achieved remarkable results in alpine skiing events of the 14th National Winter Games, which took place on Jan 29.

During the women's downhill event, athletes Zhu Tianhui, Ni Yueming, and Zhang Yuying, secured four golds and one silver for the Shanxi delegation. Zhu Tianhui, after crossing the finish line in 1 min 11 sec, claimed the championship. Ni Yueming followed closely, taking the silver medal with a time of 1:12. Ma Yongqi and Zhang Yuying secured the third and fourth positions, respectively. 

In the men's downhill event, Shanxi athlete Liu Juntong achieved 8th place. 

Alpine skiing is a major event of the 14th National Winter Games. The super-giant slalom, giant slalom, and slalom events are set to be held throughout the week-long competition.
