Two sites from Shanxi province in North China were recently included in the 11th list of China international cultural communication bases of overseas Chinese announced by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

They are the Xiurong Academy Museum in Xinzhou city and the Hedong Salt Museum in Yuncheng city. 

The former shows historical images and cultural relics spanning thousands of years of history in Xinzhou. The latter mainly showcases cultural relics and sculptures centered around Yuncheng's 5,000-year-old salt culture, including the formation and historical evolution of salt ponds in the city. 

The Shanxi Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese has conducted a variety of cultural exchange activities to promote Chinese culture in recent years. There are currently 27 China international cultural communication bases for overseas Chinese in the province.
