An industry-education integrated community focusing on the protection and utilization of cultural heritage was founded in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Dec 22.

Shanxi is rich in cultural heritage, with over 50,000 immovable cultural relics. However, there is a shortage of professionals with specialized skills in this area.

The community aims to enhance the protection and inheritance of its cultural heritage, cultivate more technical and skilled personnel, promote collaborative technological research and development, facilitate resource sharing and exchanges, and foster collaborative innovation among academia, industrial circles, and research institutes.

It was jointly initiated by Shanxi Cultural Heritage Survey and Protection Research Institute Co, Shanxi University, and Shanxi Polytechnic College. It brings together more than 160 bodies, including industry organizations, schools, research institutions, and upstream and downstream enterprises.

The community will focus on industrial development trends, engage in cross-regional cooperation, integrate various resources from government, industry, academia, and research institutions, improve the mechanism for joint training between schools and enterprises, and facilitate the sharing and exchange of resources such as faculty, technology, and equipment in vocational education and industrial development.
