Yuncheng Zhangxiao Airport passed the acceptance check of China General Administration of Customs on Nov 23-24, becoming the third aviation port in North China's Shanxi province to do so.

Located northeast of Yuncheng city, Yuncheng Zhangxiao Airport is just 11.5 kilometers from the city center.

In April 2017, the airport was granted temporary opening, and since then, routes to destinations such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Nha Trang in Vietnam have been established.

The Yuncheng customs has supervised a total of 580 inbound and outbound flights, with 54,371 passengers. In January 2020, the State Council approved the airport as an aviation port for external operations.

To ensure it passed the acceptance smoothly, Yuncheng customs has implemented a supervisory system that includes a smart customs clearance channel, a negative pressure isolation zone, a preliminary machine inspection system, and a monitoring command system, all interconnected.

"The acceptance is of great significance to the construction of the China (Yuncheng) Cross-Border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, a bonded logistics center, and a core industrial park for cross-border e-commerce," said Xu Weidong, director of Yuncheng customs.

The customs office will continue to support the construction of international cargo storage facilities at the airport and proceed with efforts to ensure smooth international air logistics and port development.
