The CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee and Shanxi Provincial Government on Oct 8 sent a congratulatory message to the Chinese sports delegation attending the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the Chinese delegation and Shanxi athletes. 

At this year's Asian Games, Chinese athletes won an impressive total of 201 gold medals, 111 silver medals, and 71 bronze medals. 

The 11 athletes from Shanxi excelled in seven major events including taekwondo, shooting, athletics, diving, Go, gymnastics, and swimming. They won six gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals. These victories marked the first time that Shanxi had won gold medals in multiple events at the Asian Games.
