The 2023 Rural Revitalization (Taigu) Forum opened on Sept 25 in Taigu district, Jinzhong city, North China's Shanxi province. 

The forum was co-hosted by the Rural Economy Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Agricultural Office of CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, Shanxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the CPC Jinzhong Municipal Committee, and Jinzhong municipal government. 

It fostered discussions about issues related to accelerating the construction of an agricultural powerhouse and promoting agricultural and rural modernization. 

Leaders from national ministries, as well as experts and scholars in the field of agriculture and rural development attended the forum.

Governor Jin Xiangjun said that in order to contribute to the construction of an agricultural powerhouse, it is necessary to secure the bottom line of food security, consolidate the foundation for agricultural industrial development, develop agricultural technologies, make good use of rural reform, and coordinate the task of rural vitalization.
