The Shanxi Internet Society recently released the "2023 Shanxi Internet Enterprise Comprehensive Strength Index Report". 

According to the report, in 2023, the total revenue of the top 20 internet enterprises in Shanxi province reached 97.6 billion yuan ($13.39 billion), with a year-on-year growth rate of 9.7 percent. 

The internet business income of these top 20 enterprises reached 55.3 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 3.1 percent. Their total profits stood at 1.88 billion yuan. 

With increased investment in research and development, these internet enterprises are driving the high-quality development of the industry in the province. The R&D investment of the top 20 internet enterprises reached 830 million yuan, up 26.7 percent year-on-year. Their patents totaled 716, including 225 invention patents. 

Among the top 20 enterprises, the Shanxi branches of China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom have been promoting the construction of 5G base stations. More than 14,800 5G base stations have been built this year, improving the quality of 5G network services in the province.
