Over 50 companies from North China's Shanxi province showcased their flagship products at the 20th China-ASEAN Expo, which opened in Nanning, the capital of Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 16.
The expo provided a platform for Shanxi enterprises to exhibit their new achievements in key industrial chains, green and low-carbon transformation, international cooperation in the field of energy, and superior agricultural products.
"This is our first time participating in the expo, and our goal is to seize the opportunity to introduce our brand to more ASEAN members," said Wu Yingjian, the overseas sales manager of Shanxi Victory Auto Group.
During the expo, a trade delegation from Shanxi engaged in a series of negotiations, matchmaking, and business survey activities.
From January to August, Shanxi's imports and exports with ASEAN reached 18.59 billion yuan ($2.55 billion), a year-on-year increase of 46.6 percent and accounting for 17.75 percent of the province's total foreign trade value.
Shanxi and ASEAN member countries have extensive cooperation potential in infrastructure construction, equipment manufacturing, and the development of specialty agricultural products.
"We hope that enterprises in the province can make good use of the platform provided by the expo, fully understand market demand, showcase their self-developed products, and expand international markets," said an official in charge of the Shanxi Department of Commerce.
