Shanxi furthers partnerships with SOEs

During the 2023 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum on Sept 6-8, North China's Shanxi province held a series of thematic activities to deepen cooperation with State-owned enterprises (SOEs) administered by the central government.

On Sept 6, a symposium and signing ceremony on deepening cooperation between Shanxi and SOEs administered by the central government was held in the provincial capital Taiyuan. 

At the symposium, leaders of SOEs administered by the central government, such as China National Petroleum Corp, State Grid Corp of China, China Mobile, and China Resources (Holdings) Co, gave briefings on their development in Shanxi and their next steps for cooperation, as they mapped out the prospects for deepening practical cooperation with Shanxi. 

During the subsequent signing ceremony, the Shanxi provincial government signed strategic cooperation agreements with several SOEs administered by the central government. The cooperation covers areas such as energy, new materials, equipment manufacturing, and energy conservation and environmental protection.

One day later, a project matchmaking conference and cooperation signing ceremony was held based on the theme of SOEs administered by the central government assisting in the industrial low-carbon transformation of Shanxi. 

Shanxi's provincial-level SOEs, municipal governments, and development zones signed 22 cooperation projects with SOEs administered by the central government as well as national-level scientific research institutions. The total contract amount reached 10.65 billion yuan ($1.46 billion), covering areas such as the digital economy, new energy, smart agriculture, modern chemical, equipment manufacturing, construction, gas, and power. 

This series of thematic activities aimed to promote the introduction of strategic emerging industries, low-carbon industries, and future industries that are crucial to the overall transformation and development of Shanxi.
