The opening ceremony of the "Taiwan Entrepreneurs and Youth Tour in Shanxi" series of events was held in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Aug 29.

Various organizations, including the Economic Bureau of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, Shanxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Shanxi Department of Commerce, Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, as well as municipal governments of Datong, Shuozhou, and Jinzhong are jointly hosting the event series.

The event series aims to bring together entrepreneurs from Taiwan and Shanxi to support Shanxi's transformation and development.

At the opening ceremony, more than 900 representatives, including leaders of industrial and commercial organizations, Taiwan entrepreneurs, and youth, were present.

It's the most significant economic and trade exchange and cooperation event between Shanxi and Taiwan in recent years. The event series, which runs until Sept 1, includes an opening ceremony, specialized promotion sessions, and Shanxi-Taiwan cooperation and exchange meetings focused on agriculture, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. 

Participants will also have the opportunity to visit and conduct field studies in the cities of Taiyuan and Xinzhou and attend specialized promotions and project matchmaking activities in the cities of Datong, Shuozhou, and Jinzhong in the province.
