Dahe village in Huguan county, North China's Shanxi province, was recently included in the list of national geological culture villages by the Geological Society of China.

It is the first such village in Shanxi to receive the honor. 

Located in the Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon, the village boasts rich geological relics and a history spanning hundreds of millions of years. 

In recent years, the village has taken advantage of its typical geological relics, unique flora and fauna, and combined them with local folk culture to develop tourist attractions for geological study tours and nature-related educational trips. 

By maximizing the scientific, social, and economic value of its geological resources, Dahe is becoming a model for the integration of geological heritage and sustainable development.
