Ma Xiaomin, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanxi Provincial Government, met with a delegation from the Hodh Ech Chargui region of Mauritania on July 4.

Ma said Mauritania is rich in copper, iron, and other mineral resources, and has vast prospects for agricultural and livestock development. Shanxi has abundant coal resources and a well-developed livestock industry in its northern area, which shares similarities with Mauritania in terms of mineral resources and livestock.

He hoped this visit to Shanxi could serve as an opportunity to promote practical cooperation between companies in Shanxi and Hodh Ech Chargui, and invited the president of that region to attend the 2023 Taiyuan Energy Low-carbon Development Forum.

The delegation stated that the purpose of its visit, on behalf of the region's president, was to express their desire to establish a friendly cooperative partnership with Shanxi and promote practical cooperation between the two sides.
