Shanxi Data Technology Co based in North China's Shanxi province was recently approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology to push ahead and develop a national open innovation platform for new generation artificial intelligence (AI) public computing power. 

The platform will mainly rely on the National Supercomputing Center in Taiyuan and the Taihang Laboratory for planning and construction. 

It will focus on the development and application needs of AI industries such as smart energy, smart cultural relics, intelligent manufacturing, and smart education, so as to better provide inclusive intelligent computing services for governments, universities, enterprises, and other users in Shanxi. 

The platform will provide computing infrastructure and general software services, offer users a complete chain of AI services, help achieve efficient integration of AI supply and demand, and promote industrial intelligence and digital development.
