The Shanxi Red Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference hosted by the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism was held in Wuxiang county in North China's Shanxi province on May 27.
The conference aimed to further showcase the province's rich resources, and promote the development of Shanxi's red tourism (tourism related to the modern revolutionary legacy and history of the Communist Party of China).
It focused on introducing famous red tourist attractions in the province that are of important historical significance and cultural value, and supporting the development of Shanxi's red tourism industry.
The Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism released 20 red tourism routes involving 11 cities across the province at the event.
Shanxi is a famous old revolutionary area in the country. There are more than 3,400 sites related to the revolutionary legacy and history of the CPC, of which 103 have become red tourist attractions, and 17 have been listed as national patriotism education demonstration sites.
