A tourism promotion series held by North China's Shanxi province targeted at Southeast Asia came to its last stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April 13, following events in Singapore and Thailand.

Christina Yeo Ken Yin, director general of the International relations division (culture) of the Malaysia Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture; Zhao Changtao, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia; Zhang Jiexin, director of the China Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur, and representatives of travel agencies in Malaysia attended the event.

At the event, Wang Aiqin, director of the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism, said that Shanxi and Malaysia have very different tourist attractions from each other and both great places to visit. Shanxi will support the cooperation between travel agencies on the two sides and promote the recovery and development of the inbound tourism market on both sides.

Christina Yeo Ken Yin stated that the Malaysian tourism authorities will strengthen cooperation with Shanxi to encourage Malaysian tourists to travel to Shanxi.

Targeting Chinese in Malaysia as a potential key tourist group to Shanxi, where people practice the culture of Guan Gong, the promotional event broadcast a tourism promo of Yuncheng city in Shanxi province, which is the hometown of the ancient legendary general Guan Gong.
